This morning the marvelous IT team at PRWeb started running around flipping switches and levers to pump life into the fourth aptly named PRWeb online press release visibility package, Media Visibility. This package is built upon all the other PRWeb packages since it includes all the features, tools and distribution options available plus… drum roll please… distribution to the newsrooms of the daily newspapers in the top 100 DMAs via the Associated Press’ AP Datafeature service.
For some time now, we’ve been asked to provide more media distribution in our offerings and, quite frankly, never really got around to it as we were making tremendous advances developing our direct-to-consumer mechanisms and channels (something unique to PRWeb). Well, we’ve gotten around to it and, much like our other offerings, are offering this at a very affordable price.
The AP Datafeature circuit is a pretty cool distribution channel. Newspapers subscribe to this service and through it receive content from the Associated Press. This means your content will be plumbed directly into these newsrooms right where they are looking for content and story leads. And these are the major newspapers located in the top 100 (read largest) DMAs.
What’s a DMA? Ah, glad you asked because unless you’ve been making a living in advertising, you probably don’t know. DMA stands for “designated market area” and was created by Nielsen Media Research to recognize that some areas receive their media from nearby hubs. This creates a localized market that doesn’t necessary follow state lines or county/parrish designations. For instance, Most of New Jersey is part of the New York DMA because they get their localized broadcast media from New York. It’s an interesting definition and very useful.
If you log into your PRWeb.com account, you can read more about this new option. And our press release is here.
