You know you’ve been wanting to. Uploading a video to YouTube or Google or Yahoo! isn’t enough. You have to bring people to it. But you’ve been doing online press releases for some time and know that they are getting viewed. Why can’t you simply embed the video in your press releases just like blogs can do within their posts? That’s a great question and one we asked ourselves at PRWeb.
After much muss and fuss about the mechanics and esthetics of it all, the brilliant PRWeb IT team proudly rolled out the “Feature Video” feature (erm… that’s what happens when we let IT folks name things) today.
For you, our customers, it’s brilliantly simply to use. First, upload a video to your favorite video hosting site (e.g. YouTube). The hosting site will provide you with a snippet of ‘embed code’ for you to copy and past into your the “Feature Video” field for your press release. Now whenever someone visits your press release page, they will be presented with the video right on the press release page. Audio/video excitement right on the press release page.
Now PRWeb customers will not only be able to reach their best prospects with their message, they will be able to visually demonstrate how their products work, the sincere excitement of a user’s testimonial, walk-throughs of their properties, their ability as a speaker or performer, and on and on. The press release is no longer simply a home for Courier-faced prose. It’s so much more.
It seems PRWeb is now only lacking a scratch-n-sniff feature on the press release page (we’ll let you know when our IT magicians say it’s ready).
Of course, the official press release announcing this new feature has a video embedded in it.
